    Why we need parking permits?

Parking permits don’t guarantee a parking space however they support management and prioritisation of our parking spaces to give everyone who needs parking fairer access.

The Parking Management Policy provides the framework through which Council manages parking across our City. The number of permits and type of parking permit available depends on what area of our City you live, the dwelling you live in, the year the dwelling was build, and access to driveways, crossovers and off-street parking.

It is an offence to accept a permit, if you are not the permit holder or legitimate visitor. It is also an offence to sell, give away or rent a parking permit and you maybe found in breach of the City of Port Phillip’s Local Law No 1 (Community Amenity) 2013.
